In the first course of this series, the treatment of the typically developing child was discussed. This course will discuss more advanced diagnoses, evaluation, and treatment of the child with pelvic floor dysfunction. Diagnoses such as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Hirschsprung’s disease, and bladder exstrophy will be discussed in the context of pelvic floor physical therapy. Advanced evaluation and treatment strategies will be presented along with education for families and patients about prognosis and treatment. At the end of this course, the learner will have a comprehensive plan for understanding advanced pelvic floor diagnoses and what can be helped by therapy services.

1. Advanced Surgical Procedures in Pediatric Bowel and Bladder Disease
In this chapter, the learner will be able to identify the common pelvic floor issues associated with surgeries in this area. They will also understand the implications for gross motor development and the need for other allied health professionals.
2. Advanced Evaluation of Pediatric Bowel and Bladder Disorders
In this chapter, the learner will receive insight into evaluating this population for musculoskeletal disorders and the side effects of each of these diseases. Advanced evaluation techniques will be demonstrated.
3. Advanced Treatment Strategies
In this chapter, participants will learn appropriate musculoskeletal treatments for the advanced pelvic floor patient as well as education for parents, children, and other practitioners.
